Attacking the highest mountain i Norway, Galdhøpiggen 2469 m, in the summer 1996. We were starting in sun on a very hot day and ended up in a ski alpine area, where the swedish national ski team were execising. So far have been to Norway on MTB 2 times (1996 og 1997). Both times without no place to stay except for my VW Transporter.
A very hot Summer 1996. It was time for one week of MTB around Norway (here Holmenkollen, Oslo) and later on to the Westland e.x. Lysbotn.
The very top of Brocken in Harz, Germany in 2010. So far been here 7 times on MTB (April 2009, May 2010, May 2011, May 2012 , May 2013, May 2014 and May 2015). Schierke and Clausthal Zellerfeld have been the base. Every time we have been competing “First to the very top of Brocken”…see down under….
The track very short: The start at Scharfenstein. GPS coordinate: N51 49.805, E10 36.135. Finish (mål) at the Brocken stone. The ascent starts in 635 meters and goes all the ways up to 1141 meters above sea, very old-fashioned East German concretes road. Therefore a ascent at over 500 verticals meters, which back down over a distance of 4,1 km, which about average of ascent of nearly 12.5% – which get Alpe d’Huez to imitate a cartoon. (8.5% sectional with a maximum of ascent of 12%). More parts of the Brocken road you will find ascents over 20% with a maximum of 28%.
The last 1 km – the easiest part of the Brocken Attack.
The Vulcano Teide. Did’nt make it to the very top because of to much wind that day. Made from the town Playa Las Americas to the big crater and down again. December 1997.
This very exciting island La Gomera among the Canary Islands. Lots of challenge on MTB. Been here twice. December 1998 and 1999.
